Adult Water Exercise Fall 2026Pool ProgramsStay strong, flexible and active while connecting with others at the Mehlville School District pool. Adult water fitness classes offer a variety of engaging, low-impact workouts. The exercise you'll get is almost as invigorating as the positive community experience! Choose your style and set your pace with Adult Water Exercise classesParticipants choose to register for one, two or three classes per week. Swimnastics, Deep Water Exercise, Water Dance and Aqua Jogging classes are typically held on the following evenings: Mondays: Swimnastics Low-stress water aerobics in the shallow end of the Mehlville pool help build balance and core stability. Tuesday: Water DanceGet in the groove with a dance workout set to great tunes in the shallow end of the Mehlville pool! Wednesdays: Swimnastics & Deep Water FitnessDeep Water Fitness is a moderate water workout in the deep end of the Mehlville pool while Swimnastics is a low-stress water aerobics workout in the shallow end of the Mehlville pool Thursday: Aqua Jogging or Participants' ChoiceFind your stride! Aqua jogging builds endurance and burns calories while replicating the core mechanics of power walking, cross country running and jogging - all with with less impact on your body. The class activities may vary from time-to-time depending on the number of participants and teacher availability. An active and refreshing experience can be expected every class session! Hapkido Fall 2026Evening Athletics for AllTeachers Mr. Kenny and Dr. Franzi of the Hoshin Sul Academy will guide martial arts students through "the art of coordinated movement," otherwise known as Hapkido. Students will learn self-discipline, character, maturity and respect for others, while learning counter-offensive and self-defense applications. Hapkido students are expected to come to class with a growth-mindset, ready to stand in line and follow the instructor’s guidance. This is an important part of developing discipline and respect for the art, as well as understanding the structure of the class.Fall 2026

Learn to Swim Fall 2026Pool ProgramsThe Learn to Swim program includes classes for ages 3-5 and ages 6-12+, advanced swimmers and coached lap swimming. Advanced Swim and Coached Lap Swim require try-outs and a password in order to register. Tryouts are held during Recreational (Rec) Swim sessions. For more information on Advanced Swim and Coached Lap Swim, contact Liska Hromnak (Asst. Aquatics Supervisor) at hromnakL@msdr9.org. Multi-child discounts are available for two, three, four and more Learn to Swim registrations. Please be advised discounts are to be used per household, not per an individual registering children from multiple households. Discounts used across multiple households will not be honored. Please note, the MSDR9 employee discount on class registrations cannot be combined with multi-child discounts for swim lessons unless the employee is registering three or more children from the same household for a combined max discount of 15%. The 60+ discount is not available for Learn to Swim lessons nor can it be combined with the employee discount. Coached lap swim is not a discounted class. Tennis LessonsCommunity ProgramsTennis Lessons at Bernard Middle School with Coach Mark Platt Participants will learn the fundamentals of tennis, including forehand and backhand grip, stance and swing, and how to serve the ball. Instruction includes games like rally tennis and other mini games designed to build overall tennis skills while having fun. Tennis is held indoors in the Bernard Middle School gym during most of the school year. Tennis moves outdoors late May and into the fall depending on weather and available daylight. Coach Mark will prioritize playing outdoors in the fresh air when the weather conditions are favorable.
