NewDriver's EducationDriver's EducationOur comprehensive, in-person Driver's Education course includes classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel driving and valuable observation with our certified instructors. To be registered for the course, students must be at least 15 years of age and have their Missouri driver's permit prior to the start of class. Students who successfully finish the class will receive a certificate of completion. Summer Driver's Education meets for two weeks each session Monday-Friday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with some practice driving scheduled between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. The instructors will provide students with a driving schedule the first day of class. NewLearn to Swim Summer 2026Pool ProgramsThe Learn to Swim program includes classes for 3-5 year olds, 6-12+ year olds, advanced swimmers and coached lap swimming. Advanced Swim and Coached Lap Swim require try-outs and a password in order to register. For more information on Advanced Swim and Coached Lap Swim, contact Liska Hromnak (Asst. Please note, the MSDR9 employee discount on class registrations cannot be combined with multi-child discounts for swim lessons unless the employee is registering three or more children from the same household for a combined max discount of 15%. Summer Camp Week 1: July 6-9Community Education Summer CampCommunity Education Summer Camp at Oakville Elementary Week 1: July 6-9 Bricks 4 Kidz - Pocket Brick Masters: Campers will tap into their inner engineer as they build iconic lightning-bolt pets, custom capture spheres, and legendary elemental dragons using LEGO® bricks. Jewelry Creations Club - Nature Paw-ty! Inspired by the colors and the critters of the great outdoors, campers will design and create classic jewelry pieces and personalized treasures like backpack pulls, bookmarks and shrink art while learning pro-techniques like beading, crimping and wiring with instructor Mrs. Carrie Lyons. Nature Engineers - Science Camp: Campers will be guided to grow a deeper understanding of Earth science, Biology and Environmental STEAM through outdoor discovery and indoor investigations with Hagemann Elementary teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Bailey. PE Sports Camp: A daily variety of classic action games mixed with rounds of recreational sports will keep campers moving while building skills, confidence and good sportsmanship with Oakville Elementary PE teacher, Mrs. Brittney Johnson.Summer 2026 -

Oakville Elementary art teacher, Mr. Brian Adams will instruct this empowering and imaginative camp experience!Bricks 4 Kidz | Once Upon a Galaxy: Every build tells a story! Campers will embark on thrilling adventures through enchanted kingdoms and faraway galaxies—all through the power of building with LEGO® bricks! Come experience this stellar, magical adventure! Each day will be a new adventure as campers build a virtual world with LEGO® bricks! Campers will build their favorite video game inspired characters. All campers take home a custom-made mini figure.STL Chess Club - Grades 1-5: Develop chess skills, strategy, and critical thinking while fostering sportsmanship and logical planning.Jewelry Creations Club - Stages and Screens: Campers will design and create one-of-a-kind, classic jewelry pieces, beaded accessories like bookmarks and backpack pulls, and shrink art - each inspired by the sights and sounds of music & theatre, TV, movies and video games. Mrs. Carrie Lyons guides the creative process while providing hands-on instruction of pro-level techniques like crimping, wrapping and stamping.Science Camp - Build It and Launch It! Become a junior engineer and discover the secrets behind how things move and fly! Summer Camp Week 4: July 27-30Community Education Summer CampCommunity Education Summer Camp at Oakville Elementary Week 4: July 28-31 Bricks 4 Kidz - Mining & Crafting Adventures: Inspired by their favorite block-based crafting video game, campers will bring the pixelated world to life as they build with LEGO® bricks and motorize amateur LEGO® robotic builds. Jewelry Creations Club - Endless Summer Fun: Summer memories will sparkle as campers are guided to design and personalize, bold jewelry and souvenir-style pieces like keychains, bookmarks, bag pulls, inspired by blue skies, sunsets while envisioning endless summer fun. STL Chess Club: Develop chess skills, strategy, and critical thinking while fostering sportsmanship and logical planning. Summer Community BandCommunity ProgramsNo matter how long it's been, you're invited to make music with one of our Community Band courses! The beginner and intermediate community bands are led by director, Jennifer Garrison Brown. Some experience with the following instruments is preferred for Community Band: bassoon, clarinet, euphonium, flute, French horn, oboe, percussion, saxophone, trombone, tuba or trumpet. When offered, Beginner Band is ideal for students (ages 12+) and adults interested in trying a new instrument. All Community Band participants are asked to provide their own instrument. If you no longer have an instrument, please contact the course instructor for help locating an instrument. Nottelmann Music Company (314) 631-1486 also has an excellent instrument rental program. Live performances, showcasing the talents of our community musicians, have quickly become a beloved district-wide tradition. Each session typically culminates with a public performance opportunity to showcase the combined talents of our community musicians.Summer 2026 -
NewTennis LessonsCommunity ProgramsTennis Lessons at Bernard Middle School with Coach Mark Platt Participants will learn the fundamentals of tennis, including forehand and backhand grip, stance and swing, and how to serve the ball. Instruction includes games like rally tennis and other mini games designed to build overall tennis skills while having fun. NEW this winter: Tennis for adults!
